41st WAPP Executive Board Meeting

The 41^st WAPP Executive Board meeting chaired by its Chairman Mr. Usman Gur Mohammed, was held on Saturday, 27^th April 2019 at the Golden Tulip le Diplomat Hotel in Cotonou, Benin.

The meeting examined several documents that was addressed as follows:

• Two applications for the WAPP membership from APR Energy (Senegal branch) and SAPELE Power PLC (Nigeria) were favorably considered by the Executive Board. However, their membership shall be finalized only upon acceptance by the next WAPP General Assembly.
• The membership appointments to the various WAPP Organizational Committees was approved.

The Board also agreed in principle to the organization of an “Investors Forum” by WAPP to involve the private sector significantly in the financing of WAPP priority projects and related national projects. The General Secretariat was asked to continue brainstorming on the subject and produce a concept note to be submitted to the Executive Board.

With regards to the proposed amendments to the staff regulation and Code of Conduct of the WAPP General Secretariat, the Board requested further information for a decision to be made.

The Board decided to hold the 2019 WAPP General Assembly in Abuja, Nigeria.
