SOLICITATION OF PUBLIC NOTICES AND COMMENTS ON ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL SAFEGUARD DOCUMENTS
The West African Power Pool (WAPP), the Governments of Nigeria, Niger, Benin, Togo and Burkina are working together to develop the regional interconnection project named «WAPP North Core 330 kV Interconnection Project in accordance with the ECOWAS Power Generation and Transmission Revised Master Plan and particularly the inter-governmental protocol signed.
Following the 38th meeting of the Board Members, the Board members, under the guide of the Secretary General, Mr. Siengui A. KI, visited the construction site of the WAPP Information and Coordination Center (ICC) Headquarters in Abomey-Calavi (Benin) in order to witness the works progress. At the end of the visit, they urged GER, the company in charge of the works, to speed up in conformity with the work plan.
The General Secretariat of the West African Power Pool (WAPP) organized the 38th Meeting of the WAPP Executive Board at its Headquarters on 7 April 2018.
The Meeting was presided over by the Board Chairperson, Mr. Usman Gur Mohammed. The purpose of the meeting was to consider and adopt the following:
The WAPP Secretariat, on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 08:00 hosted, the Minister for Energy of Benin, Mr. Jean Claude HOUSSOU. The Minister who was paying a courtesy visit to the Secretariat was accompanied by Directors and other officials of the Ministry.
During the meeting, the WAPP SG expressed his appreciation in the Minister and thanked the President of the Republic of Benin, the Government and the people of Benin for the hospitality that has facilitated the smooth running of the WAPP since its establishment in 2006.
